Kareena Kapoor has been the brand ambassador of the statement “Main Apni Favorite Hoon” and she has been too vocal about her obsession with herself in many interviews. Only if one could learn to love oneself the way Kareena does, the world would be full of people who felt good and confident. Following are the instances where Kareena had been an outright proof of her self confidence and narcissism:
When asked about her cat-fight with Bipasha in a Filmfare interview
“She (Bipasha) just doesn’t seem to have any confidence in her own talent. In a four-page interview, she spoke about me for three pages. Why not talk about your work? I think her only claim to fame is that she fought with me during Ajnabee over (designer) Vikram Phadnis.”
Her reaction to why most of her female co-stars seemed to have a problem with her
“I certainly don’t look out for hostile situations. On the contrary, it’s the others who get hostile. Maybe they feel jealous because success has come too easily to me, being a star-kid, a star-sister and all that.”
“They accuse me of saying things about them…when in fact I never mention them in my interviews. It’s they who keep talking about me all the time. In a magazine, Ameesha Patel was quoted as saying that I’m insecure about her. Do you think I can be insecure about anyone? I’ve just worked with Kajol and Jayaji (Bachchan) in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Why would I ever be insecure about any actress after working with these legends?”
When she stated that she deserves a part of Deepika’s success!
“There have been times when I’ve signed a film and then felt it was wrong. Yes, I was supposed to do Ram-Leela but I changed my mind. I decided to do Gori… instead. With me, it’s all about the mood. There are no regrets, I’ve worked with some really good directors. I’ve missed the chance to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But there’s always a next time. I’m the only actress who can boast of giving films to other actresses.”
Her reaction to Preity Zinta’s comment on star kids getting undue privileges
“She said something about me and I retaliated…There was probably some misunderstanding which she wasn’t interested in clearing up. That’s fine by me because she’s nowhere in competition with me.”
Earlier in her career when she was asked about working with her now good friend Salman Khan.
“I am not at all a Salman Khan fan. I don’t like him, he is a bad actor.”
Her comment on Ameesha Patel replacing her in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was just savage.
“The film was made for Hrithik (Roshan). ….. She (Ameesha) just doesn’t look beautiful. If I was in the film, I would have definitely got a better deal but I still feel that the attention would have got divided between us. So I’m glad I didn’t do the movie.”
“Hrithik’s dad spent five hours on every frame and close-up of his son, whereas not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha. There are portions in the film where she has pimples and under-eye bags on her face.”
